Freecycle a website that allows members to exchange unwanted products, has doubled to more than 1m in the last year.  Amber Moves has been promoting Freecycle on their website under the section Amber goes Green.

With every household move, especially in London, we encourage our home movers to have a good clear out before their move.  At Amber Moves we understand people want to move home with a clear conscience and recycling your unwanted stuff is certainly the way to go.  We also offer a recycling service as part of the move and all metal, glass and cardboard is sorted to avoid dumping as little as possible.

Many of our office move clients have to recycle as part of their company policy and at the time of the survey, we build this into the logistics and planning.  When it is not possible to recycle we think again and make contact with local charities we have previously moved, schools and churches.
